The begining
Edward John Eyre's first expedition began from Adelaide aged 24. He took a party on horseback and a flock of sheep for food. -
Travelling North
Eyre travelled north, where he found and named Mount Deception and Mount Hopeless. -
Decisions - not sure of the date
He then travelled towards the west, trying three times to reach the head of the Great Australian Bight, he had no choice but to send most of his party back, and to continue on with Baxter and three aboriginals (including his friend Wylie), he thought the fewer the people the less the food will run out soon.
