John Polkinghorne was born in England on October 16, 1930. He was raised in a church and later pursued many degrees. Science and Religion
Since Polkinghorne grew up in a religious environment, he was prone to studying the aspects of religion. In 1983 he was able to Publish his book "The Way the World Is". He goes in depth in the book how a "thinking person can be a Christian". It was one of the few works that were released to show how there is a relationship between science and religion. Turner DJ. Acknowledgement
In 1997, Polkinghorne was knighted by the Queen of England and received the Templeton Prize later in 2002. His acknowledgement was for the success in bringing science and religion together in relation. -
His Passing
In 2021 he passed away, but lived a very wonderful life full of accomplishments. During his time, he was able to convince many scientists and philosophers in how we perceive science and religion and combine their ideas together. He published many books and writings that will be useful for years to come.
