  • Birth of Tenzin Gyatso

    Tenzin Gyatsi was born on July 6th on 1935. Tenzin was born into a small family, whose parents were farmers. Little did he know what a lifechanging fugure he would become. Tenzin was recongixed as the 14th reincarnation of the Dalai Lama. He recongnized several different implements, those of only some had been presented in the 13th Dalai Lama.(Fame World).

    Reincarnation
    Shortly after the 13th Dalai Lama passed away, in 1940, Tenzin Gyatso was identified as the reincarnation of the 13th Dalai Lama, the spritual leader. A life of compassionw as ahead. He would fit the characterisitics and matched the implements of which they were looking for. The Dalai Lama has been around for over three hundred years and it is a major role to fill. (Fame World).     At the age of six, Tenzin was appointed as the next Dalai Lama of the Tibetan people and quickly began his schooling and training to understand the Tibetan culture and the role he was to fill.

  • Leadership

    At the age of 16, Tenzin was called upon to be the head of state of the Tibetan people. He was to be the leader of compassion and the patron saint of Tibet. (Birth to Exile). He had gone through monastic education at a young age and was now being called on to lead his people.
  • Uprising

    Tens of thousands of Tibetan people gathered outside of the Dalai Lama's residence in an attempt to stop him from going to a Chinese performance of which he was invited to, under the condition of not bringing an body guards. The Dalai Lama escaped in commoners clothing and escaped into the night and made his way to Northern India ("Birth to Exile").
  • Exile

    The Dalai Lama escaped to Northern India when he understood that China did not desire his leadership anymore. He (Fame World). The Dalai Lama has led the Tibetan people from a distance and has continued to fight for their freedom from the overbearing Chinese government (Lama, Dalai, 49th). He has been in exile for over 50 years and has contunued to lead his Tibetan people from India.
  • Nobel Prize

    The Dalai Lama was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize in 1989. He accpeted the award on behalf of the six million tibetan people. He believes that the award is comfirmation that the lifetstyle of using truth, courage, and determination as their weapons, that Tibet will be liberated (Lama, Dalai, Nobel). The award itself proves that the world recongizes the movement towards peace. The Dalai Lama has dedicated his life towards compassion and universal harmony, and that has yet to be achieved, but will
  • Present

    The Dalai Lama continues his mission towards universal harmony to this day. He is still in exile but is continually working to fight for the rights of the Tibetan people. He has dedicated all of his life towards this mission and has clearly made an impact, yet has been unable to achieve freedom for the Tibetan monks. His lifestyle and view is unique but so pure. "We all seek happiness and try to avoid suffering" Dalai Lama. His philosophy is compassion, which we all desire yet are unable to get.
