As a Child
As a child Charles Culley was known as "Chuck." He grew up in mid-lower class family. He was post world war II child but remember being scared to sleep in kindergarten nap time because he was scared of the war. -
Childhood

Growing Up
Chuck is from Concordia and got his first job bailing hay at .50 an hour from mid morning to sun down. He walked half a mile to school everyday, and in school he played every sport such as football, basketball, track. -
New technology
They got their first colored tv when Chuck was in his teen years and it didnt really effect him due to playing alot of sports. -
Graduated
He graduated in 1957 with C average and plans to go to Kansas Weslyn -
His fathers passing
His father died of a heart attack at age 44 while he was working. -
Kansas Weslyn
He attended Kansas Weslyn and got his Masters in Social Studies. He played football throughout all four years. He know is in the Hall of Fame for coaching for 53 years. -
First Walmart
The frist walmart did not effect Chuck's family his mother refused to go to Walmart. She spent more money at the local grocery store rather than saving money because she believed in helping the people she knew in her community -
Married
Chuck dated his wife for six years before his mother asked his girlfriend for her hand in marriage and to this day they have been married for 51 years. They met in grade school and attended all the dances and proms together. -
JFK's Assassination
Chuck Culley very much mourned the assassination of JFK. To this day he owns many books on JFK. He was teching at the school when he found out what had happened on the radio. -
Biggest Regreat
His biggest reget is he will not have the Culley name further on through gradnchildren. His daughter adopted but cannot have her children and his son being gay his last name wil not carry on. -
Greatest Achievement
His greatest achievement is his teaching 53's of teaching. He wakes up happy every day to come to school, and teach kids. -
Today
Chuck Culley is the Social Studies PBD teacher currently at Salina South and is on his 53rd of teaching. He is very happy with his life -
