The founder of the cult, Dwight York was born -
Acceptance
Dwight accepts Islam after being in prison with other Muslim men. After he was released, he traveled to his nearest mosque and converted to Islam. -
Isa
After converting, he changed his name to Isa Abdullah. He started to invite African American youth to come and basically learn about Islam. -
The Start of the Cult
Isa gained a small number of followers and based on his readings of the Bible and the Qur'an, he was able to publicly create his own cult. -
Popularity
Isa started to rent buildings and was able to gain some stability. The group started to publish newspapers and on a regular basis authored by Isa. -
Traveling
Isa started to travel where there were many Islam converts but unfortunately, some weren't accepting. -
Isa abandons the cult and renames it
Isa and his community decided to relocate and give the cult a new name. They relocated to a bunch of different places but eventually, his followers went on to buy a new property and rename themselves. -
Miracles
Isa decided to start bringing in new followers and including miracles in his traditions. -
Spread the Message
he decided to publish numerous books. He began to call himself the movement's prophet -
Arrested
York got arrested for child molestation and sex trafficking. -
Continuation of the Cult
Many people in the United States continued to support York and the cult. he was called a wonderful leader of the people.
