Queen was born
Freddie joined Smile as lead singer. He decided to change the name of the band to Queen, he also changed his last name to Mercury. -

Freddie and Monserrat Caballé appeared at the huge open air La Nit festival in Barcelona.
It was the last time he performed on stage. At the time, he was ill with AIDS, although he didn't want people to know about it. He announced the fact the day before he died. -
