Galen, a greek surgon was a medical authority for many centries before Harvey published his book. He believed blood passed between the ventricles by means invisable pores. He also believeed arties sucked air. When Harvey published his book it caused a lot of contriversary in the medicsl athorities. -

William Harvey got a degree is Doctor of Medicine. He accepted the position at St. Bartholomew’s Hospital where he worked for the rest of his life. He also wrote a book called De Motu Cordis which is translated to On the Motion of the Heart and Blood. And he was the first doctor to use the quantitative method for his medical investigations. His book explains how circulation of blood goes into the heart. And how the veins and arteries work in the body. -

William Harvey is important to the world to us today because of many reasons. For one, he wrote that book explaining how the human body system works and did experiements. If he didn't write that book then to this day doctors and nurses and sureons wouldn't know how the human body works in order to operate on it correctly to make someone better.
