Sudan became an independent country because they were given a Declaration of Independence form the Anglo-Egyptian Rulers. This lead to more conflict. -

The first Sudanese Civil War was ended through a peace agreement. But it killed more than 2 million people, many died because of sickness. -
Omar Al-Bashir's Coup
Omar Al-Bashir leads a successful coup against the Prime Minister of Sudan, Sadeq Al-Madhi, even though it was against the peace treaty. -
Bashir Gives Himself Power
Bashir makes himself Prime Minister of Sudan. He also banned political parties and got rid of the Parliament. This was caused by Bashir's succesful coup. One outcome of this event would be that four years later he became the President of Sudan. -
Omar Al-Bashir vs. Zur, Masalit, Zaghawa in Darfur
Omar Al-Bashir was accused of destroying the three main tribes in Darfur: Zur, Masalit, and Zaghawa. This all started because he was accused of torturing the tribes and sending them places they did not want to go. He made many excuses and denied different opinions so he could stay President of Sudan and not be arrested. -
South Sudan Gains Independence
South Sudan gained independence by a Peace Treaty that ended Sudan's 22 year Civil War.
