Salva found other people from his village and then was taken to a rebel camp. They were freed and Salva got left at a barn. He met the old lady that owned the barn. -

A woman and man had agreed to take Salva with them. That small group joined another group. In that group, he met Buksa who found them a beehive and the group ate that for the night. -

Salva met Marial and found out that he is traveling towards Ethiopia. -

The group made it to the Land of the Atuot people. Salva found his Uncle and had antelope for dinner thanks to his Uncle. That night Marial died because of a lion. -

The group made it to the Nile River. Everyone made boats and crossed the river. That night he got bitten up by a lot of mosquitoes. -

The group arrived at the Akobo desert. The group came across dehydrated men and Salva wanted to offer his water but didn't. Salva learned that his family is probably dead. 3 men showed up and killed Uncle in front of everyone. -

The group and Salva arrived at the refugee camp. Salva searched and didn't find his family. -

The camp is getting closed. The Guards chased the people into the river and killed many. Salva decided to walk to Kenya and other boys followed him. -

Salva lived at a refugee camp in Kakuma for 2 years. He decided he didn't like it and walked to a new camp. He finally got to the Ifo camp. -

Salva started learning English from an aid worker named Michael. Michael told Salva that Salva got picked to go to New York. -

Salva filled out a bunch of paperwork so that he could go to New York. He also got a bunch of new clothes. He left on an airplane to New York from Nairobi. -

Salva arrived in New York and met his new family. He lived there for more than 6 years. -

Salva checked his email one day and saw that it was from his cousin. Salva was told that his father was at a hospital in Sudan. Salva did a lot of work and got the chance to go see his father. -

Salva traveled to Sudan from New York. He traveled to Sudan to meet his father after the many years they were separated. During this trip, Salva learned that some of his family is still alive and living in the village Loun-Ariik. After that Salva came up with an idea to help the people in his village. -

After many months, Salva figured out his plan. In order to get enough money to carry out his plan, he had to talk to groups of people in order to get enough money. The first time he talked he stuttered but it still went well. -

Over multiple years he went to multiple places like churches, civic organizations, and schools. He spoke in front of many people and was able to raise the amount of money he needed. -

Nya was taking her daily walk to the pond to get water. On the way, she had gotten a thorn stuck in her foot and had to take it out. When Nya got back home she had some food and went on another long walk to the pond. This time she took her sister Akeer in order to teach her what to do. -

Akeer got sick from the muddy water that the family was drinking. Her family took her to a hospital and she got better. The doctor advised Akeer's family to not let her drink that water anymore. -

Visitors came to talk to the village's chief and other people in the village. The visitors discussed where water would be and then they started clearing the land. -

The visitors finished clearing the land and with the help of other people were working on building the pond. Eventually, the people started seeing water come out and they knew that the plan was working. -

One day Nya found out that the people were also going to build a school. Nya learned that she would be allowed to attend the school along with the other boys and girls in her village. -

Finally, the well was built and Nya got to use it for the first time along with everyone else in the village. -

Nya thanked the person who ran the entire project. That person was Salva. He had built multiple wells for people all around Southern Sudan.
