Published Bestselling book: "Salem's Lot"
It was his second published book. Nominated for World Fantasy Award for Best Novel and Locus Award the same year. The book is about a 9 year old boy in Maine (homestate) who finds out all his neighbors are vampires. -
The Shining
His third published book. Nominee for a Gandalf award and a Locus award. There are three limited editions of the book and it was turned into a tv series. It is about a man named Jack that has telepathic powers. -
King Was Hit by a Van
He suffered from a collapsed lung, broken hip, his leg broke in 9 places, and he recieved a gash to the head. The interesting part is that his laywer bought that van that hit him, and hit the van with a baseball bat before sending it to a junkyard. -
Boston Red Sox
Stephen King is in love with the Red Sox (Basrball team from Boston) and even published a book in 2004 after they won the world series, "Faithful: Two Diehard Boston Red Sox Fans Chronicle the Historic 2004 Season" -
Tells interviewer his inspiration
In an interview in 2009, King explains his inspiration was in a book called, "The Lurker in the Shadows" which helped him realized that he wanted to be an author. -
His life today
He lives in Florida with his wife Tabitha which is also an author. He has a daughter and two sons, Naomi, Joe, and Owen and two of them are also authors. It is not that his family influenced him, if not that he influenced his family. He is also working on a book that will be released June 4 called "Joyland" and another one called "Doctor Sleep" which will be released late September (2013).
