    On this day Columbus set sail from Spain to find an all-water route to Asia. When they got on land they thought they were in India and named the natives Indians. Not knowing they discovered North America (The New World). This is how exploraton started and when the new world was discovered.

    In 1518 Cortes set voyage to explore and secure the interior of Mexico for colonization and to find gold. While in Mexico exlporing he met the aztecs which started a threr year war which he won and conquered the aztec empire in the interior of Mexico. While exploring he also brought back 99 tons of gold which set off exploration.

    Pineda's job was to find a sea passage to Asia and to map out the rest of the Gulf Coast. Pineda was the first to map out the Gulf Coast.
