Colombus' First Voyage

Aug 3, 1492

Colombus was trying to find a shorter route to India so that the Spanish could trade easier. But Colombus ran into the New World. Over his exploration years he made 4 trip back to the New World. But he was found guilty of abuse to Indeans. He was sent back to Spain to be tried and was told to never come back.

Pinedas Explorations

Jan 1, 1518

Pineda was sent in hope to find a water passage from the gulf to the orient. But on his adventure he also mapped 800 miles of the gulf. His map was of the coast of America. His detailed map encoraged more exploration to the New World.

Cortes' Exploration

Nov 1, 1519

Cortes was an explorer that wasnt suposed to leave Spain. But he wanted to find gold so he left any way. Over his year he conquered Tenochtitlan, killed Mactizuma, and found about 99 tons of gold. But most of all he conquered the Aztecs. When he got greedy about gold he put the Native Americans to work. If the Natives didn't bring enough gold he cut off a hand.

De Vaca Exploration Part 1

Apr 15, 1528

De Vaca and Estaban ,with the loeader Narvez, set out twards Florida. They had 300 calverymen, 300 foot soldiers, 1000 Indians, !000 hores, and pigs and sheep and goat for food. The purpose of going on this expidition was to see if there was any gold on the gulf coast.

De Vaca Exploration Part 2

Nov 6, 1528

De Vaca and Esteban ,with Narvez still as there leader, got seperated with their ships. So they figure that if they build rafts they can sail right to Cuba. But since no one knows how to sail they just decide to flote staight and they will be there. But they get cought in a gale and get thrown up in the Texas coast wich is Galveston. Luckly De Vaca soon made friends with the Indeans by eeing a medicean man and performed the first surgury. They were there from 1528-1536.

Fray Marcos and Estaban Journey

Mar 7, 1538

Fray Marcos and Estaban set out oon a journey for the 7 cities of gold. When Estaban goes to the village where the 7 cities of gold is locatd he discovers there is no gold. But he thinks he can be there medicen man. So when he walks in and demands food, water, shelter, an woman the Indeas get infuriated and start shooting arrows at him. After he gets struck in the back he gets killed. And since Fray Marcos saw no villages of gold he claimed that there was an even better city.

Coronadnados Expidtion

Feb 23, 1540

Coronado set out in search for the big city of gold that Fray Marcos siad that he saw. When he finds nothing a Frank says that there is a city much grander with much more gold and ricjes there. So Coronado decides that he whats gold and is desperate for gold. But when they get there and thers nothing he gets so mad he hands the frank a shovel so he can start digging his own grave. After he is done digging Coronado strangles him to death.

Moscoso's Expidition

May 21, 1542

The original leader for this expidition was De Soto. But on the trip he died from a fever. But this expiditon was in search for gold. This expedition went from Florida to Texas. But after they found no gold Descoso decided to torture the Indeans. He decided to rip then in half. So he put a rop around the Indeans hands and a wight at their feet. So when the conquistadors pulled it ripped the Indian right in half. So he backed up Coronados therie that Texas was usless.
