Columbus' First Voyage
Columbus set sail on August 3, 1492, He began his quest for God, Gold,and Glory. He later landed on October 12, more than 2 months later. He landed on the island in the Bahamas that he called San Salvador. He died in 1506, still believing he had found a new route to the west indies. Although he didnt step foot on America, he sparked the Columbus exploration. -

De Soto and Moscoso went on a expidition to find gold. They were the first people to Explore Texas. They explored alot but left empty handed. On the journey De Sto died of fever, then the Indians thought he was a god so they buried him and then they got suspicious and dug him up and threw him in the mississippi river. -

Fray Marocs and Esteban Journey
Estaban was a guide for the priest Fray Marcos in the journey. Fray was ;ater killed by Zuni Indians for damanding their woman and food. Esteban said he would go ahead and send white crossess as signs that they killed Fray. Before he died he had reported there were 7 citites of gold. -

Coronado's Expedition
Coronado led a major Spanish expedition up Mexico’s western coast and into the region that is now the southwestern United States. To find the 7 cities of gold. Though the explorers found none of the storied treasure, they did discover the Grand Canyon and other major physical landmarks of the region, and clashed violently with local Indians. With his expedition labeled a failure by Spanish colonial authorities, Coronado returned to Mexico, where he died in 1554
