What Columbus was manily looking for was to find a new route to Asia for Spain. On his way he landed in the Bahamas. In the Bahamas he got inninasant indians to be slaves for the people in Spain. So in conclusion Columbus found a route to the Bahamas (America) and incouraged other conquestodors to visit the Bahamas. (America) -

pineda's voyage
Pineda's purpose to sail, was to explore the coast in hpe to find a water passage from the gulf to the Orient. What was important was that he was the first person to map 800 miles of shorline including rivers and bays that emptied into the gulf which was in Texas. In the end ,his work, it did encourage other exploration along the coast that lead colonization by spaniards and other euorpeans. -

cortes is famously known for conquring the Aztects in Mexcio this is important because after he kills Montezuma he develops farms throughout New Spain, or Mexico, and He also helped spread Christianity. -

devaca voyage part 1 start day
Pánfilo de Narváez was the captain of the voyage including Devaca. the point of the voyage was to establish a colony between Florida and the Río de las Palmas. -

After surviving a treacherous winter in Florida De Vaca, and 80 other men built rafts from Flprida to Mexcio. On their travel strong winds pushed them into Galveston island. Over the next few years, survivors were enslaved by Native American tribes like the Karanowas, Guaranís, Payaguás, and the Guaxarapos tribes. For eight years he and Castillo Maldonado, Andres Carranza, and enslaved Moor Estevanico, worked as one of them while traveling to Mexcio to get on ships back to Spain. -

Moscoso's Expedition
Moscoso was part of Hernando De Soto's expedition. During this journey On May 21, 1542, De Soto died from a fever at the Mississippi River. In the end he never found or discovered anything. -

Fray Marcos and Estevan jounery
the purpose of their journey was to explore the land in the north to christianize indians for the king of spain. during the journey Estevan's
party went ahead of Marcos'es party. as marcos was leading his party He journeyed towards the Seven Cities of Cíbola but turned back after hearing news that Esteban the Moor had been killed at Hawikuh, one of the seven cities. Something to do with Estebans party that disturbed a summer ceremony, upon his return to New Spain, he told about golden cities. -

Coronado's expedition
When Coronado whent to fide the fabled 7 cities of gold he checked to cities Cibola and Quivira his guide EL Turko had lied about Quivira being golden he had him stranggled by a cord. but on his journey he did discover the colroado river and the grand canyon. his importance in history will always be that he found out that there were no 7 cities of gold. This will tell other conquestodors that its not true.
