When he returned to Spain; he brought back gold and other goods.He was important because he started the spanish exploring in North America. -

He conquered the Aztecs and brought back 6 million dollars worth of gold. His importance was that he sparked the interest of many people. Since he brought back that much gold, he put the idea in peoples' head that there was golden cities. -
