First composition
His composed his first compisition at the age of 6 years old. He never stopped composing either from here on. -
First Priate lesson
He started to recieve theory lesson and private violin lessons. The instructors were from the Royal School of Music where they introduced him to Wagner's opera "Lohegrin and Trannhausser." -
First Performance
He gave his first performance of his Violin Concerto in D minor, playing the piano part himself. Then he went and studied Art and Philosophy at a University in Munich. He did not study music at all. -
Left University
Strauss then left that University at the age of 16 to go and pursue his passion and love for music that he missed. He headed to Berlin, Germany where he became a student of Hans Von Bulon, one of the most well known conductors in Germany. -
Compositions
He wrote many of his famous compositions for the next two years, "Four Seasons" and "Serenade." Under the study of the conductor Strauss learned so many techniques and grew in his musical knowledge. -
Influences in his Composing
He met Alexander Ritter which influenced him to write tone poems and give up the youthful conservative style of composing. He composed Don Juan, Death of Transfigurations, many symphonies and other compositions. -
Married and Family
Strauss married a soprano Pauline de Ahna and had two sons named Christian and Richard. He wrote many of his operas and vocal works for his wife. -
Composed his biggest Opera
He composed on of his biggest operas called "Elektra" which was a late romantic style of opera with a dramatic plot, showing the lead as a soprano voice. -
Protecting Daughter in Law and Grandchildren
Richerd Strauss wrote a Jewish filled Opera and it only showed three times and then the third reiggime oppoesed it. Strauss "Olympisceh Hymne" at the openning summer Olympics in Germany. The fame and use of the music distracted the Nazi from his family and provided protection. -
WWI affects of his music
RIchard Strauss loved the works of Mahler and Debussy and these were band because of the reggieme of Hitler. Strauss did not support the reign of Hilter and did not appoint to any political party. He was appointed to be the post president of the State Music Burea of Germany. He went against the odds of the reign. -
One sct Opera for the war
Richard Strauss wrote the one act Opera "Freindstag" which means peace day, and this opera was during the Thirty Year War. This provided a statement and hope for the people of Germany. That one day it will be over and done, with a contrast of light and dark, with hope and turmoil the opera after about a month into the war got called off. -
Last and Final Work
Strauss before he died wrote the piece "Indian Summer" which depicts the winds and blows over the plains. Finally his piece "Four Last Songs" finally got published as well right before his death. He got to hear them one last time before his death. -
Moved to Vience
He moved back to Vience, Italy for the protectoin of his daughter and grandsons. They were abducted by the Gustepoe and Strauss fought to get them back after two days, -

Richard Strauss composed many lieders and choral works for this early 20th centery. He wrote a set of song cycles called "Four Seasons." Also, he wrote the famous lieder "Allersalen" and "Morgen." Strauss was always popular for his works and harmonics of the voice and accompiament. -
Death and Burial
Richard Strauss passed away at the age of 85 with his family and loving companions at his side. He had a symphony that conducted his most famous pieces of works, and a trio sing his famous "Rosenkaliver". His wife then passed three months after that at the age of 88.
