Paul Feyerabend January 1924 - February 1994

  • Young Life 1924-1947

    Feyerabend served in the military as a Nazi lieutenant where he worked on Arbeitsdienst introduced by the Nazi`s. Later in his military career he was shot in the hand and belly after this happened he left the military. He then went to the university in Vienna where he published his first article on modern physics.
  • Popper, Pap and the Alpbach 1947-1957

    During this time period Feyerabend met lots of people that built up his ties with the scientific community. In 1948 he began attending the Alpbach seminars where he would meet Karl Popper. He then became the leader of his philosophy club that was called the Kraft Circle. 1951 Feyerabend received a doctrine on his basic statement thesis, he would then make Popper his mentor. Then in 1957 he gave a gave a paper on the quantum theory of measurement at the university of Bristol.
  • Feyerabend`s move to America and his thoughts on science theories 1959-1969

    In 1959 Feyerabend moved to America to work at the University of California. 1963 how to be a good empiricist was written by Feyerabend. This paper explained his point of view on the whole theory. 1969 he wrote another article called Science without Experience, this was Feyerabend giving up his attempt to be an empiricist.
  • The Against Method 1970-1978

    1970 Feyerabend came after Popper with the publish of the essay model of the Against Method. The book Feyerabend wrote was published in 1975, the against method explaining his views on rules and the scientific method. 1976 he then post a major article about relativism.
  • His Final Publishing's 1984-1995

    1984 he publishes Science as an Art in this he defends an explicitly relativistic account of the history of science. Farwell to Reason was published in 1987 this was a collection of all Feyerabend`s paper's from 1981-1987. 1993 third addition of the Against Method was published. 1994 Feyerabend died and in 1995 a Autobiography was published.
