Odysseus kills the suitors

1027 BCE

When Odysseus revels his identity to the world the suitors are angered. He shoot one of them in the neck, killing them. The others try to go get weapons but Telemachus has locked the room up. They send a scout to find out how to get in the weapons closet. Once they get in and get their spears and swords, they fight Odysseus and Telemachus. After Odysseus kills them all he goes and kills the unfaithful women.

Penelope's test

1027 BCE

When Odysseus the beggar enters the house he is greeted by the suitors telling him off. Skip to later in the story He is alone with Penelope when she starts to question him until He finally tells the truth. Them she asks him to tell her one of her secrets and which he does. She them hugs him and apologizes and he tells her that he will kill the men who tried to marry her.

Odysseus is back in Ithaca.

1027 BCE

After visiting Hades cave he heads home and before long he is back. He disguises himself as a beggar to test the suitors. When he realizes that the suitors are evil rude men he kills them with his son Telemachus.

Penelope's Challange

1027 BCE

Penelope decides it's time to get a husband and so she arranges a challenge: The men must shoot an arrow through an axe. Odysseus beats the challenge with ease and surprises the suitor.

Suitors taken to the Underworld.

1027 BCE

After the suitors were killed they were taken to the Underworld. They told the gods about how they died unfairly and the gods congratulated Odysseus and his ability to get home.

Telling of his story

1025 BCE

When Odysseus land on the land of the Phaeacians he is guided to the king and queen by the Goddess Athena who's been helping him on his journey so far. When he reaches the king the king invites him for dinner ad games after dinner the king asks Odysseus to tell him where he came from and who he is. Odysseus replies telling him that hi is from Ithaca and that he has been trying to get home for years. They go play games such as running and jumping. The king sends Odysseus off with a crew an boat.

Land of Scheria

1025 BCE

When he lands on the land of the Phaeacians he meets Scheria and she tells hime to meet her at her palace and when he get there go to the Queen and ask her to stay.

Telemachus gets back to Ithaca

1023 BCE

Telemachus comes home and with news that Odysseus is alive and is on his way home.

Odysseus sails away from Calypso's island

1022 BCE

After 7 long years a man comes to the island of Calypso and says he is sent by Athena and Zeus and that she should let him go. A few days later he leaves. Once he set sail Poseidon saw him and tried to kill him but was unsuccessful as Odysseus got to shore on the island of

Telemachus' journey

1022 BCE

After Odysseus leaves men come to his house to try and take his mother's in marriage for the money and power she possesses.
One night Athena comes to Telemachus, Odysseus' son and tells him to gather a boat and crew to go to Sparta and Pylos.

The suitors

1021 BCE

At this time we get a description of the suitors, they are rude, evil, and greedy people whom just want to marry her for her money and home.

Odysseus is stuck with Calypso.

1015 BCE

After the battle of Troy Odysseus makes Zeus and Poseidon angry and as a result Zeus sails him off course and when Odysseus gets on Calypso's island Poseidon vows to never let him go home again.

Helio's Castle

1014 BCE

After the journey his men reach land they go and kill one of Helios' cattle. Which angers Helios, he tells the gods to take vengeance on him and his men.

Meeting the Sirens

1014 BCE

After a year with Circe, Odysseus decides it's time to leave and gathers hime men. Once they set sail they hear beautiful Sirens singing and the crew gets drawn in by the and they kill a few of the men. Odysseus finds out and they sail away from them.

Lotus-Eaters

1013 BCE

When Odysseus and his men come across the Land of the Lotus Eaters, He sent three of his men to explore the place. When they came back to his they had lost all hope in returning home because they had eaten the lotus plant.

Cyclops

1013 BCE

When Odysseus begins to explore the land he sees a cyclops and decides to visit it. The cyclops eats around 3 of his best men and leaves Odysseus after he gives him a bottle of red wine. Odysseus tries to escape and ends up stabbing the cyclops in the eye. When he escapes he yells out his name and where he is from. The cyclops prays to Poseidon that he will never get home.

Meeting Circe .

1013 BCE

After sailing Odysseus' men meet Circe and after she invites them in she turns them into pigs and when He finds out after Hermes tells him and gives him a necklace that blocks her spells. Once He gets to her home he gets into Circe's house she tries to cast the spell on him. It doesn't work and Circe asks him how it is possible and if he wants to sleep with her.He says no and and says that he will only do it in she lets his men go. She agrees and lets them go. they stay there for a year.

Taking a visit to the Land Of The Dead

1013 BCE

After a year with Circe he is told to go the the Land Of The Dead. He makes sacrifices and gets the souls attention. When he does he sees the souls of dead people including his dead mother he tries calling out to her but she doesn't respond. Then he remembers what Circe told him and he calls out the old prophet Teiresias. He starts talking to Odysseus, he warns Odysseus that the Sun God's Cattle should be left alone.

Scylla and Charybdis

1012 BCE

As Odysseus is sailing he and his crew come across two mountains one with the six headed monster Scylla and the other is Charybdis.
The men stare at Charybdis the Scylla kills six of his men with her heads. They imminently start the sail away.

Battle Of Troy

1000 BCE

After the battle Odysseus heads home with his men.
