    Wakes up at 8:15 and lays in bed till 8:40. He went out to his kitchen to make some coffee. When he returned to his room he saw smoke coming out of the north tower of the Trade Centre. The time was 8:50. The mood of Mclnerney’s day suddenly escalates from being calm to being stressed as his ex-girlfriend calls him sounding breathless. He was following the news on his tv while staring out of the window to check on the World Trade Centre. He realized that he missed the event by seconds.

    Afterwards he went out to the streets to get the newspapers, but there was nothing relevant. He met two old people on his way and asked them if they knew anything about the event, but they knew nothing. Mclnerney was approached by a woman who was also confused by the whole situation and asked Mclnerney if he knew anything.

    He went back home and have seen the replay of the crash many times now. His ex called again and said that she saw the tower go down. People were distressed and left heartbroken by the event. Mclnerney went out together with a neighbor to stock up on food, because people fear an upcoming crisis.

    After the shopping, Mclnerney went back to the apartment and called his ex-wife in Tennessee to ensure her that he is still alive and their kids can be calm. After he called his ex-wife he walked down Eight Avenue toward the West Village. He recounts about wall-street people leaving their offices and just how chaotic the city is right now.

    He met together with Jeanine at a café talking to a guy who witneseed it all. He said that people were crying for help and people were grabbing at him desperate for help. After the conversation with the liability analyst. Mclnernet realized that it was the worst timing for him going to publish a book after these horrible events.

    On Wednesday morning , people have regained composure. The mood is not as hectic as yesterday’s events. There is almost a festive atmosphere in some areas in Mclnerney’s area. Many people were relieved by surviving the events. But besides of a general relief, there are seen many posters hanging around in the neighbourhood because of lost loved ones after the attacks.

    On Thursday people had no idea what to do with themselves. People were shocked by the incident. This event has changed peoples lives for ever as Mclnerney thinks of quote that says that the attacks will forever leave a mark in Americans hearts.
