Bypassed the punchcard bus system using technolgy
When Mitnick was 13 he used dumpster diving and social engineering to bypass the punchcard system used by the bus system in LA. -
Gained access to a computer network
Mitnick gained unauthorized access to a computer network when he was 16 years old. He did this by breaking into the computer network and copied their software. -
Authorised
In 1996 Mitnick authorised his first book. The book was titled the Fugitive game. -
Charged and convicted
Mitnick was charged and convicted for breaking into the computer network for the crime committed 9 years ago. -
12 Months in Prison
Mitnick paid for his past crimes by spending 12 months in prison followed by 3 years of supervised release. -
Hacking during supervised release
Mitnick hacked into Pacific Bell during this time of supervised released. A warrant was then set out for his arrest and he fled, staying on the run for two and a half years. -
Arrested.... Again
Mitnick was found after all this time in an apartment North Carolina with over 100 cloned cell phones and forms of ID. -
Mitnick Pleads Guilty
He pleaded guilty to four counts of wire fraud, two counts of computer fraud and one count of illegally intercepting a wire communication. He was sentenced to a total of 68 months in Prison -
Released from Prison
Mitnick was released from prison after roughly 5 years. -
Allowed a radio License
An FCC judge ruled in favor of allowing Mitnick to use have a radio license. -

Mitnick wrote and published his first book -
