It's a wake up call for Ryan as he visits ground zero.It's also when he makes the decision to join the army. -
Wedding
Ryan decides to tie the knot with Heather because he loves. Also because he wants Heather to receieve anything about his death if it ever happens. -
Red Phase Begins
Ryan joins the army today. It's also the beginning of an adventure of Red Phase. -
New Years!
This is the 2005 New years and the first new year he spends in the army. He spends the new year in a bunker squatting from mortar shorts. -
First day of White Phase
It's the end of red phase and the beginning of white phase. In this phase Ryan learns how to mature as a person and as a soldier. -
Car bomb explodes
The date is not exact but on this day a car bomb explodes. The bomb explodes right outside of a building Ryan is stationed at ,but he doesn't hear it go off. -
Receiving Letters
Ryan gets a letter from his dad explaining some tough times. Ryan also says how he writes in all capital letters because of his dad. -
Putting Haley to sleep
On this day, Ryan's dad puts their dog, Haley, to sleep. He talks about how much he loved the dog , and also how his father cried all the way back after putting her to sleep. -
The Funeral
It's Jim conklin's Funeral and Ryan cries at it. It's also an eye opening expirience for him as he realizes the true effects of war. -
The Anniversary
Today is the day that Ryan goes back to New York on his anniversary with Heather. When he gets there he is reminded by Heather that it's their anniversary and she also shows him what soldiers in Iraq can't do for him. -
