    Age of Pericles, glorify Athens, Strengthen Democracy and hold strong empire. Increased number of officials. He created direct democracy and a more self government than other city states.

    He broke the power of nobility, he organized citizens not by wealth but where they lived. He allowed all citizens ti submit laws for debate passage. ANd created the council of 500. Allowed citizen participation in democracy.

    He came to power and developed a legal code that all Athenians were equal under the law. He made death a criminal punishment and upheld debt slavery.

    He introduced democratic reforms and outlawed debt slavery because no citizen can own another. Had organized a four social class by wealth.
