In 1985 on the 20th of September, Ernest Nagel would pass away in a hospital in New York. The cause of his death was pneumonia. He died at the age of 83

    In 1911, shortly before the outbreak of World War One (The Great War) Nagel emigrated to the United Sates. In 1919 he became a naturized U.S. citizen. Shortly after arriving to the United States he began school and in 1923 he earned his bachelors degree in science, he attended the College of the City of New York. He pursued his masters degree in philosophy at the College of Colombia and in 1925 earned his degree. Still at Colombia he then went for his Ph.D and he earned in in 1931.

    After earning his bachelors in science in New York. Starting in 1923 at a very young age he started to teach physics in public school in New York. Then in 1931 he started to teach philosophy at his former school the University of Colombia. Making his first steps into becoming one of the most prominent figures in the connection between philosophy and science. He finished teaching the subject at his former college in 1929.

    He became acquainted with Morris R. Cohen at his former school in New York. He worked with Nagel and they both would then publish one of Nagel's early writings in 1934. "Introduction to Logic and Scientific Method" This would be used by many scholars and gave information on logical thought and discourse in education. The publishing of this book was widespread and was one of the most influential of the time.

They would be as follows: Deductive, Probabilistic, Functional, and then Genetic.

    Later in 1978 Nagel would be admitted into the National Academy's of Science. He has such a incredibly great knowledge in science, his work would gain attention. He won countless awards some of them are: honorary doctor of science degree from Brandeis University, Columbia University's Nicholas Murray Butler Medal in Gold, and doctor of letters degrees from Rutgers University

    On the 20th of September 1985, Nagel would pass away in New York from Pneumonia, he died at the age of 85. Nagel has a lasting Legacy as one of the most well known figures in connecting science to philosophy. Nagel throughout his career in philosophy of science he saw that science progresses with logic. Nagel saw science as something that will progress naturally and with logic, he also saw philosophy as something as naturalistic and goes into the "reflective inquiry"
