    The Murder of Emmet Till
    The 14 year old was brutally murdered whille going to visit some family in Mississippi. He was caught fliThe woman's husband and brother made him carry 75 lb cotton-gin fan on his back, he was ordered ot take off his clothes. They beat him nearly to death, they gouged out his eye, shot him in the head, tied the fan onto his body with barbed wire and threw him in the river.
  • The Murder of Medgar Evers

    The Murder of Medgar Evers
    In the driveway of his home, the civil rights leader, Medgar Evers, was shot to death by Bryan De La Beckwith. He was part of the NAACP and would travel around to encourage colored people to register to vote. This brought attention to him leading up to his death in 1963.
  • The Murder of James Chaney, Andrew Goodman, and Michael Schwerner

    The Murder of James Chaney, Andrew Goodman, and Michael Schwerner
    On June 21st, 1964 three civil rights workers were murdered. James Chaney, Andrew Goodman, and Michael Schwerner were registering black voters and investigating the burning of a black church when they were arrested. They were held for several hours and then released to the Ku Klux Klan. The KKK then brutally beat and murdered them.
