    Early Childhood

    He is the strongest and most powerful warrior in the world. Beowulf's father had killed a person and was put into exile, so Beowulf had to go to Hrothgar for refuge and to pay back his debt.

    Call to Adventure

    In order to get rid of his debt to Hrothgar he had to slay the monster that had been terrorizing the Danes, so the Geats came to slay the monster named Grendal.

    Crossing the Threshold

    Once he is called upon by the Danes to kill the monster Grendal, he goes and consults with the king and boasts of his many victories. He then commits himself to fight as the monster does and not use a weapon but only his fists.

    Challenges and Trials

    Once Beowulf makes it to the castle he stays in the main hall that got frequently attacked, catching the monster off guard and in disbelief. Once Grendal attacks he realizes that it was a ruse, then, Beowulf attacks and struggles with the monster until he rips off both of his arms with his sheer strength and Grendal then runs off to the swamp and back to his den.

    Supernatural Helper

    Fate was Beowulf's supernatural being that protected him from all wounds and damage to him, giving him superhuman strength and making his enemies weaker or making his opponents attacks fail or fall short.

    Special Weapon

    Beowulf's special weapons would be his luck and shear strength. With his overwhelming strength he could defeat any enemy, and his luck made every blow with a sword or claws go dull and miss.

    Abyss or Temptation

    During the battles with Grendal's mother Beowulf fights and nearly loses to her, but in the end he is still too powerful. After many years later on he fights a dragon for the temptation of gold and peace of his village, which ends in his demise as well as the dragon's demise.

    Transformation

    When Beowulf kills Grendal and Grendel's mother to finally be free and have his debt settled. After this he is free to rule over his kingdom for more than 50 years until his demise.

    The Return Home

    When Beowulf cut off Grendal's arms he returns back to his homeland and in his absence Grendal's mother returns to the castle that was being terrorized and still kept killing those that were there. So Beowulf returned, fought, and killed Grendal's mother ultimately stronger than her child was a major victory for Beowulf.

    The Mastery of Two Worlds

    When Beowulf finally defeats the dragon as he is left in a pool of his own blood he recalls his great feats and victories he faced as well as his respect given due to his acts, such as not a single person's declaration of war or shot of anger at him or the Geats. He then tells the warrior who fought with him to erect a tower in his honor at the coast for all to see and remember him by.
