ME- Barack Obama was born on August 4 1961, in Honolulu, Hawaii. He was named after his father, who was also named Barack. Eventhough, his name was Barack, his parents always call him Barry. However in 1963, Barack Sr. and Barry's mum, Ann, split. Barack Sr. wanted to study at the Harvard University of Massachusetts. Ann stayed with Barry in Hawaii when Barry Sr. was gone. -

Barack Obama worked his way up to the American government, from a person who helps people on the streets, then to a teaching in a school, being a state senate, and the US president. Specialized vocabulary:

ME- Barack's new dad
In 1967, Ann married an Indonesian man who she met in the University of Hawaii. His name was Lolo Soetoro, when Barry met him Barry instantly liked him. When Lolo returned to Indonesia, Ann and Barry followed. When they moved to Indonesia, Lolo decided to get Barry a pet, however it wasn't a normal pet like a dog, cat, or fish. It was an ape named Tata. Lolo was very kind to Barry, he treated him as his own son. -
ME- Barry's father came home
Barry was 10 when he saw his actual father (Barry senior). His parents told him about his father, Barry thought of him like an African prince, however when he met him, he was nothing like what his parents told him. He was thin and one of his legs were weak. Barry found him annoying at first. That all changed when his dad showed to Barry's class what he was really like. -

Barry realized that he needed to start thinking about his future. He made this decision when his father died. He started thinking seriously about what he wanted to do in his future. To start of, he worked as a community organizer. A women came to him and told him that she lived in an apartment for poor families. She said that it was not well kept and there even might be Asbestos in the walls. Barack Obama gathered a group of mums and young children to tell the landlord. There was Asbestos. -
CE- Barack's biggest regret
Barry's mum, Ann, was suffering from cancer, so she moved to Hawaii to be near Toot. Barack didn't want to go with her, because he decided to run for State Senate of Illinois. He continued to work for that position, however that turned into his biggest regret. Ann died on November 7, 1995. On that day Barack was not with her. -
ME- Barack Obama became a state senate
Barry's life now was full of joy, he got married in 1991 to Michelle. They met in a law firm, Barry knew her, because she showed him around the firm and had lunch together. After they got married (and had a child, Malia, who was born in 1998), Barack decided to run for state senate in Illinois. He won the election by many votes. He ran for state senate until 2005. -

Osama bin Laden, a leader of the terrorist group Al Qaeda, bombed the US twin towers, which caused the building to be in ruins, and people killed. -

Without the bombs hitting the Twin Towers, the US army wouldn't properly experience how to handle terrorist attacks if it ever happens again. -
ME- Barack runs for president
Barry announced that he will be running for president. Some people doubted him, because they still didn't know him. Barack still tried, and his opponent was Hillary Clinton in the first round. In the end Barry won his place in the US government. After his first term in the White House, Barack wasn't done with what he wanted to do, so he asked the people to vote for him again. With that, he won more than 8 million and a half more than his rival, John Mc Cain. -

Barack was angry and frustrate at Osama Bin Laden for his constant attacks on the U.S, so he sent an army of US Navy SEALs to stop him, and end his terrorist group.
