He wanted to be in the trenches. He misses the men that left to go to different units. Also misses his sister Jessie. Most of all he just wanted the war to be over with already. -

The Goverment wanted to keep most of the information about the war a secret. The journalists would risk their lives to report on the war.The Goverment saw its as helping out the enemy and if they found you, you would disappear. -
Results of WW1
At the very end Germany surrendered. The treaty of Versailles blamed Germany for the war. Also they made Germany pay for the costs of the war.
