Where the Red Fern Grows

Billy get inspired to get his hound's.

Billy and his pa are out doing moring chores and two men pull in to there driveway and ask for directions. Billy falls in love with their coon hounds. One of the two men asks Billy if he has hounds and Billy tells him he does not. Later after the men leave Billy to ask his pa if he can have some coon hounds but his pa says coon hound cost too much money.

Billy goes to work.

Billy's pa tells him that his grandpa had a blue tick hound for sail but his neighbors the Pritchard boys convinced their dad to buy them the hound jets so they could mack him mad. One day he found a add in a magazine for coon dogs's so he stared working multiple jobs that summer so he could ern fifty-dollars to buy the dogs.

Billy is ready to buy his hounds.

After a long summer of hard work, Billy has come up with the money to buy the hound. Beacuse the mail stage won't carry live animals he sets of tothe town of Tahlequah to pick up his hounds. That evening he sneaks out to go get his dog's.

Coming home

After he buys his pups he has some extra money so he uses it to buy presents for his family. On his way home with his new pups, Billy comes in contact with a mountain lion but is able to skar it away with the campfire. The next day he sees a tree with the names Dan and Ann carved into it. He decided to name the boy dog Old Dan and the girl dog name Little Ann. When he gets home he shares the gifts with his family and stars to training his dogs.

Training begins

Billy tide a pice of coon hied to a string and let the dog case is and sniff it. Soon he would drag the coon hide all around the yard and turn the dog lose to go find the pice of the hide.

Chopping down a big tree.

One night will they were out hunting Little Ann and Old Dan treed a coon in the biggest tree in the Ozark Mountains. Wil he was chopping the tree down to get the coon Billy's grandfather tells him to build a scarecrow to keep cocoon in the tree. It took him many days to chop down the tree. Finally, a big gust of wind blew the tree over and The dogs got the coon.

Something bad happens.

One night Rubin and Rainie Pritchard had challenge Billy that his hounds could tree the legendary Gost Coon. Billy was able to tree it but sense he had easaps so many hunters the he figerd he dersived to live. They got in to a fight and as that hapind their dog Old Blue escapes and started to fight with Old Dan and Little Ann. Rubin grabs Billy's axe to try to drive the dogs away but trips and land on the axe and dies.

The big hunt.

After many months of hunting, there was a big coon hunt. Billy his pa and his grandpa pilled up in the wagon and went off. When they pulled up in the hunting camp and a man was collecting money for a big jackpot. They up in 5$ and started to set up camp. After a couple of nights of hunting, there was a big storm and Billy grandpa got hurt.

The big win

Billy's grandpa was ok but Billy did not win the contest. The man that did win was proud of how Billy gave up the hunt to save his grandpa and gave Billy the wining's. That day the went home and a few nights later Old Dan was attacked by a mountain lion.

Moving to town.

Despite Billy’s mother's attempts to save Him, Old Dan passed away. Over the next couple of days, Little Ann loses her will to live and also passes away. Soon after that Billy finds out that his parents have gathered up enough money to move to town and he is devastated. Moving day arrives in and he goes to visit his hounds one last time and see that is red fern has grown in between them. He knows that an angel watching over them because only an angel can plant the seed of a red fern.
