  • Paul Feyerabend was born

    Paul Feyerabend was born
    Paul Feyerabend was born in Vienna, Austria. Soon after graduating high school, Feyerabend was drafted into the german army during World War II. During the retreat of the german army, Feyerabend was struck by three bullets. He would walk with the aid of a cane for the rest of his life.
  • Published "Against Method"

    Published "Against Method"
    When published "Against Method" was seen as radical. In its pages, Feyerabend challenged the notion of the Scientific method. He went on to argue that there should be no methodological set of rule that govern science. In fact, he stated that any single scientific method would restrict the scientific progress. The ideas laid forth in, what would become, his defining work would go on to be common place in modern academia. (Abrahao)
  • Published "Science in a Free Society"

    Published "Science in a Free Society"
    In his later work, "Science in a Free Society", Feyerabend continued his argument he began in "Against Method". He "Called for radical changes n the way we view science and its relation to society". Nearly half of this volume is devoted to replying to critics of his previous work, "Against Method". He titles this section of the book, "Conversations with Illiterates". It isn't difficult to imagen his opinion in this matter. (Dunlap 212)

    Feyerabend died of an inoperable in 1994 only weeks after finishing his autobiography (Killing Time).
