    Jacob Jankowski is a promising young man studying at Cornell University to become a Veterinarian. After a car accident leaves him orphaned, with no money. He leaves home and jumps aboard a train. This train happens to belong to the Benzini Brothers Circus, and will change the course of his life forever. He is hired as a veterinarian.

    After a long day walking and then boarding an unusual train, a circus train! Jacob begins the next day working at the circus, shoveling horse poop and eventually getting to study the animals.

    The circus' young vet is invited to dinner with Marlena and August, Marlena's husband and ringleader. He learns much about the couple. Including August's charming and then menancing ways. However, he also shares a first dance with Marlena.

    During his first night working the circus, he comes across an act the completely captures him, Marlena, the ringmaster, August's wife, and her horses. He first meets her here.

    The Benini Brothers Circus is desperate for a new act to bring in revenue, they purchase Rosie, a sweet, but seemingly dumb elephant. Jacob is to train her and Marlena to ride her. The three form an unbreakable bond.

    After the raid leaves Marlena and Jacob alone and away from August, they kiss for the first time and Marlena runs away in confusion.

    Rosie does not cooperate her first show. August abuses her to almost death. Jacob and Marlena are devasted and share concern about August.

    After a party with Marlena and August, Jacob is incredibly drunk and has his very first experiences with women. This is the point where the circus workers truly accept him.

    A Suprise for August
    After an immensely successful show with Rosie, Marlena plans a surprise party for him with Jacob. However, August is filled with rage and accuses her of infidelity. This causes him to physically abuse her. This becomes the last straw for Marlena and helps her make her decision to be with Jacob.
  • On the Run Together

    When Marlena heard that Jacob would be soon redlighted off the train she encourages him to run away with her to a hotel. However, they are later discovered.

    When all hope had been lost regarding Rosie, Jacob discovers she only responds to Polish! This is a remarkable discovery for the Benini Brothers Circus.

    All of Jacobs closest circus friends are redlighted throwing him into a fit of rage and desperation
  • Stampede

    Stampede
    The circus workers preform a mutiny and let all the animals go during a performance. A large stampede begins. August is thought to be killed by this, but Jacob later mentions he believes Rosie stomped on him.
  • The Rest is History

    The Rest is History
    After the stampede, Jacob and Marlena know they are destined to be together. Jacob finishes his exams at Cornell and he and Marlena are hired as a pair by Ringling, the most popular circus. The live a very happy life filled with many children, animals, and of course Rosie.
  • The Circus is Back in Town

    (ACTUAL DATE: August 12, 2001) An old widowed man, Jacob lives in a nursing home. He is lonely and yearns to be set free for the tiresome watch of his nurse. He wanders off to the circus in town and tells his story to a fascinated worker. He is hired on the spot as a ticket seller and spends his remaining life living with the circus. Fully bringing about the circle of life.
