Started Investing Young
In 1941 at 11 years old Buffett made his first investment, buying three shares of Cities Service Preferred at $38 per share. The stock dropped to only $27, but Buffett held on to it until they reached $40. -
Education
Buffett went to the University of Pennsylvania when he was 16 years old to study business. He was there for two years then finished his degree at the University of Nebraska. In 1951 he received his masters in economics at Columbia University in New York. This is where he met his mentor Benjamin Graham. -
Buffett Begins to Invest and Make $
In 1956 Buffett created a firm in his hometown (Omaha) called Buffett Partnership Ltd. Buffett was great at identifying undervalued companies allowing him to make millions. A company called Berkshire Hathaway was one Buffett invested in. By 1965 he had control of the company. -
Buffett's Partnership Dies and Berkshire Hathaway Rises
Buffett decided to shut down the Buffet Partnership in 1969 despite its success to focus on the development of Berkshire Hathaway. He expanded the company by buying assets in media. -
Warren Buffett gets Married Again
In 2006, Buffett married Astrid Menks. He was previously married to Susan Thompson who passed away in 2004. He had three kids with Susan. They were Susan, Howard, and Peter. -
Giving Back
In June 2006, Buffett made an announcement that he would be giving his entire fortune away to charity, committing 85 percent of it to the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation. This donation became the largest act of charitable giving in United States history. -
Buffett Battles Cancer
In 2012 Buffett tells everyone he had been diagnosed with prostate cancer. He began radiation treatment in July and successfully completed his treatment in November. -
Drive2Vote
Buffett launched Drive2Vote in 2016, a website that encouraged people in Nebraska to exercise their right to vote, as well as to assist in signing up and driving voters to a voting station if they needed a ride. -

Berkshire Hathaway, JPMorgan Chase and Amazon delivered a press release together in 2018, in which they announced to team up and create a new healthcare company for their employees.
