Warm Bodies

    R is introduced to us as a sort of zombie. He spends several chapters contemplating the meaning of life after death, and is actually quite intelligent for someone who is stereotypically unemotional.

    The curing of zombies.
  • Hungry.

    R becomes hungry. He explains how hunger works when you are undead. He gathers other aquaintences and heads into town in search of food. When he is in town and storms into a house, they begin there feast. Everything changes when he sees a girl, one that is alive, that he is attracted to. He saves her from the other zombies. .
  • Home.

    R takes the girl he saved, Julie, with him to go home. He teaches her how to act zombie-like and makes her smell like "death". He has small, barely audible conversation with her, and they actually listen to music together.
  • Julie leaves.

    Julie goes home and R goes on in the life of a zombie. He tries not to think about her, so he can maintain a relationship of someone of his own kind. He finds this hard, because he is one of the most intelligent and coherent zombies and can carry on a conversation which most others can not do.
  • Meet.

    R and Julie meet up again and he begins to fall in love with her. When he is spending time with he begins to makes plans to sneak into the safehouse she lives in, and start a relationship with her despite the fact she was human and he was not.
  • Undetected.

    Since R is in the early stages of decay he is able to sneak in, and find Julie. Julie introduces R to her best friend and roomate and they put make up on him so that he can walk about undetected. His story is that he was wondering, looking for a safe place to escape zombies.
  • Detected.

    After he is detected, R and Julie have to hide so that they can love each other. Julie's dad is high up in the bit of civil government they have, so he is outraged and quite simply starts a war with zombies and falls dead.
  • Cured.

    After the fall of her father, Julie and her friend convince that if you make a zombie feel love, they can cure themselves, and that is the start of the revolution.
