He is a founding father of the U.S. He came to the U.S. to become a president of a college however he shaped the U.S.

    He was one of the four marylanders to sign the declaration of independence.Carroll was the only Roman Catholic and the last survivor of all 56 signers. Him and his family played a bug role in framing the governance if Maryland.

    He was a member of Penn's Class of 1763 he left the College before graduation and traveled to Europe with his brothers to study at the University of Halle. After the war Muhlenberg didn't feel as he could return to being a parson after having been a soldier.

The thirteen american colonies wanted freedom from great Britain so they had to go to war and at the end of the war they made the declaration of independence.
