During that time Cook needed supplies and he saw Hawaii.When he landed there the Hawaiians treated him like a go because they thought he was the god Lono who had returned.He traded with the Hawaiians Cook traded metal and iron and the Hawaiians traded food.The Hawaiians didnt have enough food for themselves so when cook left and returned to kauai Cook wasmkilled by the Hawaiians. -
Getting Muskets and Cannons
When Captain Cook cam to Hawaii more Europeans came to Hawaii and brought firearms with them.John young and Isaac Davis were captured and they provided kamehameha with cannons and muskets.From then on Hawaii and England traded with each other.With Kamehameha's army he was able to conquer the Hawaiian islands.They used rockes as ammuniton for their cannons. -

No one knows how traders found out about sandalwood.Sandle wood has a pleasant smell in it.Sticks of sandalwood may have been in a load of firewood brought to an american ship.By 1790 captains sent crew men to search for sandalwood. -
Conquering the Big island
Before conquering the other islands he had to first conquer his own island.To do this kamehameha had to defeat Keoua Kuahu’ula: his cousin.Kamehameha knew he couldn't defeat Keoua so he asked many kahuna and they said he needed to have the gods on his side.After a battle Keoua returned to his side of the island and as one of the three groups passed Kilauea and it erupted.It killed many of Keoua's people.After that he conquered Big island. -

Kamehameha was a great man.He ruled the Hawaiian islands for thirty years. He was born in November 1758 at Kokoiki in Kohala on the big island of Hawaii. He was a great farmer, fisherman, a cloth maker, a provider for the needy and a father to the fatherless.Kamehameha was the greatest of Hawaii's chiefs. -
