Ronald saw Edyth in the restaurant, he recognized that she is alone and that she has a valuable ring on her finger. Ronald spoke to her and she fell in love with him. They got married after five weeks. The same day they both made a will leaving all their property to each other and Ronald was happy that everything was going smoothly. -

Murder attempt
He started preparing a bath for Edyth. He was scared although he knew that he needed to keep calm. He turned off the electricity and put the electric heater in the water. He covered it with a lot of bubbles. Then he called Edyth into the bathroom to take a bath. She locked herself and he turned the electricity on after a few minutes. At that point, he called her and she didn't answer so he thought she is dead -

The letter
He decided to wait until he began to knock on the door. While he was waiting he broke into Edyth's drawer where were her private documents. There he found a letter which was written by Edyth. In the letter, she wrote that he was suspicious and that she knew that there was something wrong. She connected with the police and waited for him to do the crime. Even the new neighbors were inspectors who were watching out for her. Suddenly he heard heavy footsteps that were going towards him.
