Thomas Kuhn was born July 18th, 1922 in Cincinnati, Ohio. He was the first of two children of Samuel L. Kuhn and Minette Stroock Kuhn. -

Thomas Kuhn graduated in the spring of 1943 from Harvard University. He graduated Summa Cu Laude with a Bachelors Degree in Science. After Graduation he worked in Harvard's Biology Building researching radio technology. This only lasted him a year before he moved to England, upon arriving in England he decided that he didn't want to pursue Radar Technology. He later decided that he wanted to become a physicist. -

When the war in Europe ended Kuhn went back to Harvard university to get his master's degree in 1946. He later started his thesis paper on physics to get his PhD. Before returning to America, he wasn't enthused studying physics, but he knew if he continued his studies, it would the quickest and easiest way for him to obtain his PhD. -

Thomas Kuhn Teaching at Harvard
Thomas Kuhn was a Junior Fellow in the Harvard Society of Fellows. He had no teaching obligations, so he continued his studies to better help him understand Aristotle's theories. He claimed that he wasn't able to understand his theories because of his modern ways of being taught. He later was promoted to Assistant Professor. When he was not given tenure through Harvard University he decided to leave and teach at different colleges. -

After leaving Harvard he accepted a teaching offer at the University of California at Berkeley. He was an assistant professor in both the philosophy and History departments. In 1958 he was promoted to associate professor and then was given his tenure from Berkeley. He taught at University of California at Berkeley until 1961. -
