Well he was in office, he directed the Louisiana Purchase. He wrote and signed the declaration. Delegate to Continental Congress. -

Thomas Jefferson died on the Fourth of July. He remaind presedent of the American Philosophical Society untill eightteen fifteen. He died in this house and of old age. He died at the age of eighty three. -

Sighing the Declaration
Most of the members of congress signed the declaration on August second , seventeen sevendy six. Its auther signed the paper , "The Jefferson."
