Byron and Kenny were sent outside to scrape the ice off the windows. Byron got his lips stuck on the mirror by attempting to kiss his reflection. After failed attempts, his mother, Wilona, pulled his lips off of the mirror. -
Perks
Kenny got bullied by a boy named Larry Dunn. One day Larry takes Kenny's new gloves. Byron found and beat Larry up. -
New Friend
Kenny makes friends with the new boy, Rufus. They become close friends and Kenny shares his lunch PB & J sandwiches with Rufus and his brother. They get closer as time passes. -
Never Play with Matches
Byron plays a Nazi game with matches and gets caught. The last time it happened Wilona threatened that she would truly punish him if he did it again. She attempts to burn his fingers, but doesn't succeed. -
Byron's New Hairstyle
Byron decides to get a new hairstyle his parents don't approve of. Wilona tells Daniel, his father. Daniel shaves Byron's hair clean off. -
Going to Birmingham
They decide to get the Brown Bomber fixed up because they are going to take Byron to stay with Grandma Sands for the summer. Their mom planned every detail of their trip perfectly. -
Wool Pooh
Their grandma tells them to stay away from Collier's Landing because it was dangerous. Byron tells Joetta and Kenny that the "Wool Pooh" would be out to get them if they got in the water. Kenny thought Byron was just playing until it actually happened and Byron saved him. -
Church Bombing
Joey goes to church with the neighbors. While she's away, a bomb goes off in the church. The whole family runs down to find her , but they can't and Kenny thinks the Wool Pooh got, and he's afraid it will get him too, so he runs back home. Joey shows up back up back at the house, clueless. She tells them she thought she saw Kenny waving at her outside the church, so she left to follow him and missed the whole thing. That night, the family (and Byron) packs up and goes back to Flint. -
Kenny's Feelings
Kenny is sad about what he saw in the church. He starts hiding behind the couch and doesn't want to talk to anyone. He feels bad about what happened. -
He's Back
Byron gets Kenny to come out to see his first chin hair in the bathroom and Kenny finally lets it out and cries. Byron talks to Kenny and helps him feel better. Kenny finally decides he doesn't want to hide behind the couch anymore.
