The Trap

  • Day 1

    Day 1
    The grandfather (Albert Least Weasel) is on his trapline, the same one he had been trapping the past 40 years. He pulls up to one of his traps and starts to uncover the freshly fallen snow. When suddenly he steps on his own trap and it crattles around his calf.

    Day 1
    Albert Least Wesal is very aggravated being that he always has supplies for this type of situation, it is sitting just one person length away from where he is stuck. He has food, water and a -55 degree sleeping bag. Instead he only has a pocket knife and the clothing he has on.
  • Night 1

    Night 1
    Grandpa (Albert Least Wesal) thought he could simply spread the jaws of his trap and slip his foot out of the cold metal trap. That did not happen and now the sun is going down and the temp is starting to plummet. He gathers as much wood as possible and ignites the fire. He then starts to try to survive the long,dark and cold night.

    Night 1
    Imagine waking up next to a fire and seeing three pairs of eyes staring at you. This is exactly what happen to Albert Least Weasel, he woke up and three wolves were standing there eating the moose quarters he had starped on his snowmobile from the day before. Albert thinks fast he grabs a stick and ignites it on fire. He starts to wave it around and screaming at the top of his lungs at the wolves, they get scared and leave.
  • Night 2

    Night 2
    Albert wakes up to the snarling of the wolves this time they were snarling at him and not eachother. He reaches over slowly and grabs his spear he hits one of the wolves but his spear breaks and does not scare the other wolves. Albert tryes to get big, he grabs a peice of wood from the fire and waves it at the wolves. The wolves are freightend by the fire and run off. Albert has survived yet another encounter with these determined wolves.
  • Day 2

    Day 2
    The Grandson is starting to worry about his Gradfather, he goes over to his grandmothers house to consult with his grandmother about it. His Grandmother says that is normal for his grandfather to stay out there this long, "I am sure he will be home by tommarow or the next day" said the Grandmother. That said, the Grandson loads the wood stove up and puts his parka back on. Goes outside and drives off up the hard packed trail to his own cabin.
  • Day 2

    Day 2
    Albert Least Weasal knows the tempature is dropping rapidly and he does not have much daylight being that the sunlight hours in Alaska are only about 5 hours. Albert has to work fast and come up with a way to stay warm and something to defend himself with incase the wolves were to come back. he breaks off all the branches he can, uses all of them but one for firewood. He uses the straightest most sturdy branch he can find and sharpens the end for his spear.
  • Night 2

    Night 2
    The tempature is almost at -45 degrees and Albert is starting to lose feeling in his feet which is not good because the cold will work all the way through his body. He has to keep moving his toes and feet to keep the feeling. his hands are okay being that he has them by the fire.
  • The Last Chance

    The Last Chance
    Albert is now out of wood and has nothing else to keep him warm. He hears the sound of a snowmobile in the distance he knows where they are, they are at thesplit in the trail. He hears the snowmobile idling and then hears it take off. The sound then dissapears into willderness. The rescue snowmobile went the wrong way. After awhile Albert is frozen he can barley move anymore. He hears the snowmobile coming back his way.
  • The Last Chance Part Two

    The Last Chance Part Two
    He also sees wolves coming over the hillside. Now it is just a race against time, who wil arrive first, the hungry wolves or his grandson. He sees his grandsons headlight bobbing across the field he also sees the wolves very close now. The wolves are starting to attack him and he can not even help himself. His grandson pulls up yelling and screaming. The wolves run off, his grandson then works on getting his foot out. He gets the leg out but by this time Albert has froze the death.
  • Day 3

    Day 3
    The Grandson knows that if his grandfather is not home today something is very wrong. The grandson talks to his grandmother about his grandfather and the grandma tells the grandson to go get grandpa. He goes and fires up his machine and starts his journey up to his grandfathers trapping area. He encounters a obstacle a split in the trail he doesnt know which way his grandfather went so he throttles up to one trail and prays that his grandpa is up the trail.
