    The most spectacular event to ever occur on the plant earth
    On this day, a legend named Brenden Andre McBride was born. He was a baby when he was born. Thank god. The thing that set him apart from any other child was his big brown eyes, and his ability to sleep like a rock, even through the loudest times in his household. The first night he was brought home, his mom woke up at 4 am in a startle because her child had made no noise that night, like a normal baby. He looked up at her, almost as if he were saying, "Why the hell did you just wake me up??? ".
  • Growing up

    Growing up
    As this spectacular little human being aged, he soon developed an interesting personality. He loved to ride his bike around his house, until he got his foot stuck between the pedal of the bike and the frame. One of his most memorable moments was when he chopped up a pair of headphones that he found with a shovel to see what the electronics inside looked like. His dad was not happy that his headphones now looked mutilated. But it was ok, because he was smiling the entire time his dad scolded him.
  • First day of elementary school

    On his first day of elementary school, he did not listen to a single word from his teachers. Rather, he enjoyed the view out of the window of his new school, Garden Street Elementary. He soon after got detention for running to the window when an oil truck passed by. His loving mother was not very happy.Throughout Elementary school, his most memorable moments were times when he was forced to go to school early for chorus, and the excitement of the book fair and all of the toys he would buy there.

    First time at Fuji Mountain Hibachi
    On his first trip to Fuji Mountain, he got delicious food while watching impressive movements by the chef. But he was not happy, as his table was close to the dancing room and his mom would not let him go inside due to his age. "Next time, honey", she said. All he wanted to do was run inside and dance to songs that he knew. Unfortunately, this was the first and last opportunity he was going to have to dance in that room. This was fine, because he would have made a fool of himself in that room.

    On his trip to Montauk in 2013, he discovered that Napeague

    beach was his favorite place in the world, until he was cooked alive by the unforgiving sun while taking a nap in the sun without sunscreen. It hurt. But he still got excited every time his parents mentioned a trip to Montauk after that trip. Except, he always remembered to bring and wear sunscreen after that day. He always loved listening to the waves crash on the shore each and every time they drove out on the beach after that day.
  • First day of middle school

    Ah, middle school. On the first day of middle school, Brenden felt like the king he was. Being able to have a locker and freedom to roam hallways made him feel like an adult. After about 10 days, he dreaded every moment of middle school because he was forced to wake up at 6 AM instead of 8:30 AM for CV. Starr elementary. But he soon progressed through middle school fine, until one day he fell down a staircase and got a concussion. He then never wanted to return to that evil school that hurt him.

    Brenden gets an Electric Guitar!
    On Christmas of 2015, Brenden got one of the biggest gifts he ever asked for. A Stratocaster electric guitar. He loved the way it sounded when he strummed the strings, but didn't love the effort that went into learning how to play that guitar. It was beautiful, and he loved it, and learned how to play popular songs like smoke on the water and seven nation army. But as he progressed, he was not able to develop calluses on his fingers, making guitar playing painful.It caused the end of his career.

    First day of track & field
    On his first day of track and field for the modified team in 7th grade, he discovered that he disliked running. But his parents made him do it anyway. He soon realized that he was super fast, and ran with the 8th graders in the 4x100m relay, shattering the school record by 6 seconds. He impressed all of the track team. This is still a record to this day, and probably won't be beaten for a long time, sitting at 52 seconds. He became interested in jumping events, specifically the high jump.

    As he aged, he found that his strong suit in track was jumping. He went from the high jump, to the long jump, and then the triple jump. On his first attempt ever at the triple jump in spring of 2018, he was the top on the team of 5 jumpers. He went on with the event for the rest of the season, and qualified for the outdoor nationals on his last meet with a jump of 40 feet 11 inches. He went to the nationals and placed 20th in the nation, winning a super sweet custom bag for qualifying for it.
  • Junior year of highschool

    In his junior year of high school, he learned work ethic when he was given an enormous amount of work in every class. It was overwhelming. He continued running track, running the 4x200m relay in the winter in hopes of qualifying for the indoor nationals with his best friend who was graduating. With numerous fails, and numerous comebacks, he soon realized along with his teammates that they had major potential for breaking the school record in the relay.They worked hard, and soon broke the record.
  • Qualifying for the NYS indoor track championships

    Qualifying for the NYS indoor track championships
    On this fateful day, Brenden and his relay team went to the indoor state qualifiers meet in high hopes of qualifying for the state championships.They ran two races: prelims, and finals.The prelims were a breeze, and once again they broke their school record in it. In the finals, the competition was on fire.Teams around them wanted to go to states as much as they did-but with the major effort of the squad, they pulled off a lucky win by 0.001 second, qualifying for state champs with a new record.

    At the new york state championships, Brenden went with his relay squad dreaming of dropping another half second off of their total time in order to qualify for the indoor nationals. Once again, they ran two races- on the first race, they each ran personal best times and qualified for the NYS finals and indoor nationals!In the finals, they were tired. But, they did it, placing 5th overall in the state. They were ecstatic, and went to Brenden's house that night to have a huge dinner to celebrate.
  • Coronavirus and quarantine

    Coronavirus and quarantine
    Unfortunately, the indoor nationals were cancelled due to the corona-virus. Luckily, they were given custom 2020 indoor nationals backpacks as a token for qualifying! Brenden and his friend were so excited about getting the bags, and they will never forget the day they picked them up at the NYC armory.
    Now, Brenden stays at home, sad because he will not have a spring track season with his friends. His chances of breaking 3 school records as a junior were blown!But he is healthy, and doing well.
