We Meet the Time Traveller
The story starts simply. The Traveller is explaining to his friends the “4th dimension.” Despite their new belief in this 4D, the thought of time travel is ridiculous to them. The Traveller shows them his tiny machine, and he sends it to the future. This starts what seems like a slight belief in the eyes of the narrator. -
The Traveller Returns
This is the second gathering in this book. The time Traveller has just returned from time traveling. He says nothing until he finishes eating. Then, he starts the tale of what he has seen and done. -
The Eloi
The time Traveller has finally traveled in time. First, for just 5 hours. Then, into a very strange future. He meets the future of humanity. They seem weak, frail, and simply not strong. This place is filled with everyone being with each other. They seem fine, but as if they were too frail to do anything to defend themselves. -
The Missing Time Machine
The time Traveller’s time machine has gone missing, despite his blame on the Eloi, it soon seems as if the Morlocks are the ones that have taken his time machine. Along with this he meets Weena, one of the Eloi. In the movie she's pretty, but as a frail little creature in the book I wouldn't think she is. -
The Communist State
The time Traveller heads off on adventures. Why? Because he seemed afraid to go into the deep pits wells where the Morlocks lived. The Traveller learns that the society now is based upon an extreme version of communism. That because of that, things are the way they are. -
The Time Travellers and Weena's Excellent Adventure
Finally the Traveller has decided to go into the wells. As he reaches the end, he sleeps, only to wake up to the Morlocks on him. Only by saving himself with matches can he run away. He narrowly escapes and leaves the place with Weena. -
Palace of Green Porcelain
The Traveller and Weena have made it to the Palace of Green Porcelain. Inside they find matches and fuel for a fire. The Morlocks have caught up with him though. As he starts a fire he puts too much fuel in and starts a forest fire. -
Away from The Morlocks
The Traveller has escaped from the Morlocks and into the future. But things are still very strange. He finds giant crabs, and a black mass of tentacles. Finally deciding that it was time to head back, the Traveller gets in his machine. -
A New Adventure
The Traveller has a talk with the narrator about going back. He will be back in a couple of hours or so. -
Never Returning?
The Traveller, three years later, has not returned.
