After 6 years of training, being enslaved by Skandians, and fighting awar when he was twelve Will has finally become a full ranger.

On only his second day on the job skandians decide to raid a monostery in his fief. But instead of fighting them he gave them supplies and a feast.

Two days later he recieves a letter saying he's recieved his first solo mission. So he meets the two head rangers for a briefing.

He finds out his mission is to go north and find out if there really is a scorcerer living in Grimsdell wood.

As Will is traveling north he also has to practice being a jongleur or traveling entertainment.

Once here he starts to ivestigate the conditions of fort Macindaw.

Will travels at night to the place where the suppossed scorcerer is and finds hes in for a scare.

Will discovers on his second day that Keren rules by fear and has poisined the lord of the castle and must escape. But it wiil be tricky because he must take the lord with them. The twist is the only person to save the lord is the scorcerer himself.

the sorcerer is an herbalist and knows the poison that has been used. He quickly makes someething gives it to him and 6 hours later hes cured.

Will storms the castle but will he be able to defeat Sir Keren without friends fid out by reading the book yourself.
