Odd is commanded to write a memoir about his life because i feel that he is intimidated by little Ozzie. He writes it about his "unusual' life. But Odd isn't writing it for the money, he's writing it to try and keep his sanity. -
Goes to Work and sees Fungus Man
"My wariness of this man came from suspicion based not on reason, either, but on crude instinct. Anyone who smiled relentlessly was a simpleton- or a deceiver with something to hide" (Koontz, 44). Odd noticed something suspicious about Fungus Man from the get-go. -
Follows Bob to his house
Odd follows Bob to his house to see what kind of thing he is. He's curious to see why the Bodachs are so interested in some creepy guy. -
Odd finds Bob's surprising office
As Odd is investigaing the Black room, he realizes that it turns into Bob's office. Which surprised Odd because he wasn't expecting someone like Bob to have such a nice office. -
Stormy and Odd's dinner was interrupted by Bob
Stormy and Odd were ejoying a nice dinner date in the bell tower of the church, when they were rudely interrupted by Bob. As Stormy and Odd were trying to get away before Bob could get them they heard a lot of noise coming from the chapel. -
Odd finds a gun and Bob's dead body
Later on in the night after their date Odd goes back to his appartment to find a gun in his line of vision, and Bob's dead body in his bath tub. So he tries to hide it so nobody would think suspicously of Odd. -
Odd finds out that the chief was shot
After the incident at his appartment, Odd decides to go talk to tje Chief about what he found. But when he got to Chief Porter's house Odd found out that he had been shot and was being taken to the hospital. -
Odd finds Bob's meditation card
When Odd is tryng to hide Bob's body, he finds a black mediation card and a wad of cash in Bob's pocket. The card has the letters "FOL" engraved on it and he later finds out that the letters stand for "Father of Lies". -
Odd tried to stop Harlo from hurting a family.
Odd tried to stop Harlo from killing a family. He stopped him from doing so. We also learn more about Odds "gift" and how he can see dead people and interact with them. -
Discovers the Black Room
While Odd is looking around Bob's house he discovers this pequiler room known in the book as the black room.
"Icy against my palm, the doorknob turned. Beyond lay a vortex of silence that sucked the last sound out of my ears, leaving me for the moment deaf even to the labor of my heart. The black room waited"(8). -

Odd goes and talks to his parents before he goes to the mall
To kill some time before the mall massacer is supposed to happen, Odd decides to go talk to his mom and dad. When Odd visits them he realizes why he is so to him self when it comes to his parents. His Dad is a rich kid wanna-be always looking for a younger woman and a way to scam people. While his mother is mentally insane but seems like she's not sometimes because of her appearance. How ever, when she talks to people she loses it and becomes suicidle. -
The time has come for the awaited mall incident
"On the truck bed in front of the explosives were a mechanical kitchen timer, two copper-top batteries, curious bits abd pieces that I didn't recognize, and a nest of wires. Two of the wires ended in copper jacks that were plugged into the gray wall of death" (Koontz, 424). -
Encounter with Bob
As Odd is looking around Odd's house for any suspicious evidence Bob sneeks up behind him after he discoveres the lady body parts and rages. Bob used his psychic magnitism to throw kitchen utensils around, some stabbing Odd. -
Stormy and Odd's relationship
After the mall incident, Story and Odd go to Stormy's appartment to start planning the wedding and hide from the press that are now following them around now that Odd's the new here in Pico Mundo. But he later found out that Stormy was one of the people that lost their life. But The Porter's came by and told Odd that "The coroner released her poor body" (441).
