-He got a salary of around £2000 double that of King
-He stopped settlers from going to Norfolk Island and brought all of them back to the mainland -In a way, he was a big goody-two-shoes as he kicked settlers out of their homes because they were on "illegal" land. -

-He enrolled in the army at the age of 14
-His first marriage was to Jane Jarvis but three years later she died of TB
-After Macquarie was appointed governor he had to restore law and order after Bligh's bad job!
-He allowed more people to get jobs after he created the need for lawyers
-He allowed the government to give convicts pardons and created more free settlers
-He is said to be the most progressive governer yet
