    Wellington's death

    Wellington's death
    Christopher finds Mrs. Shears' dog seven minutes after midnight. It was called Wellington and it was laying in her garden with a garden fork sticking out of it. Christopher felt sad that it had died and decided to hold it.

    Police
    The police arrived shortly after Mrs. Shears found Christopher and Wellington in the garden and called the police. She was frightened, believeing it was Christopher who had killed the dog. The police questioned what he was doing and ended up yelling at him. Since Christopher has autism, he acted out and hit the policeman when he tried touching Christopher.

    Police station

    Christopher gets taken to the police station and they make him take out all of his belongings from his pockets. Christopher creams when they try to take his watch from him and so they let him keep it on. After a while, his father comes to take him home. The police officer, the father and Christopher agrees that it was just an accident and he was given a caution.

    Mother

    Christopher explains how his mother got into the hospital. She was not home one day and his father told him there was a problem with her heart, so she had to go to the hospital. His mother, Judy, died two weeks later from what Christopher thinks is an aneurism.

    Murder mystery novel

    At school they have a writing project. Therefore, Christopher decides to write a murder mystery novel about who killed Wellington and why.

    Detective work

    Christopher does detective work and asks several of his neighbors if they know anything or had heard or seen anything suspicious the night Wellington died.

    A-level maths

    A-level maths
    His father argued with the head at Christophers school, so he could do A-level mathematics. He won the argument and Christopher was allowed to take the exam in a separate room with Reverend Peters as the invigilator.

    Behavioural problems

    Christopher has behavioural problems because he has aspergers syndrom. He explains what some of his difficulties are;
    - Not talking to people for a long time
    - Not eating or drinking for a long time
    - Not liking being touched
    - Screaming when he is angry or confused
    - Hitting other people
    - Not liking being in small spaces
    - etc.

    Keep out of other peoples businesses

    After his father finds out that Christopher has been doing detective work and has been asking questions, he made Christopher promise to keep out of other peoples businesses. Christopher does not know what "keeping out of other peoples businesses" mean.

    Mrs. Alexander

    Christopher questioned why his father did not like Mr. Shears very much. Mrs. Alexander, the old lady down the street, explained that the relationship between his mother and Mr. Shears was romantic and that is why Christopher's father does not like him.

    Fight

    Christopher and his father fought about the research he did for his book and the father takes to book away. They did not stop fighting until his father hit Christopher across the cheek and said he needed a beer.

    Letters

    Another day when Christopher got home, he decided to look for the book. He looked all over the house and eventually found it in a box in his father's room along with some letters that was addressed to Christopher John Francis Boone. The letters were from his mother. He thought it was strange because they were sent several months after she had died. Christopher comes to the conclusion that she did not die and that his father lied to him.

    Apology

    When his father comes home, he finds out that Christopher found the letters and tried to apologise. but Christopher did not listen to him. He later admits that he was the one that killed Wellington.

    Too dangerous

    Since it was his father that killed Wellington, Christopher decided that it was too dangerous to stay and live with him. He makes the decision that he is going to go to London to go live with his mother. he knew his address from the letters she sent.

    Swindon train station

    Swindon train station
    Christopher is at Swindon train station and notices a lot of commercial signs which makes him overwhelmed. He sat down on the ground and decided to solve a maths problem to calm down. A police officer came up to him and helped him buy a ticket to London.

    London train station

    London train station
    When he got to London, he once again got overwhelmed by all the signs and all the people and hurried to ask for help on how to get to his mother's address.
    Eventually he reached the apartment that his mother and Mr. Shears own and waited outside for them to come home.

    Stay

    His mother decided that he can stay as long as he would like even though Mr. Shears wants to send him home. Christopher explained everything his father did to his mother. Judy was angry because his father told Christopher that she was dead and hid the letters from him.

    A-level Maths Exam

    The mother and Christopher borrows Mr. Shears' car to go to Swindon for Christopher to take his A-level maths exam. They stayed in Swindon but lives in a different house from his father. Christopher got an A on his exam.
