    We are introduced to the setting of a mysterious valley, the Country Of The Blind

  • Rising Action

    1. There was a disease which ran its course.
    2. It is revealed that the main character was a mountaineer and a serious man.
    3. No sooner the author says he was taken on by a party of Englishmen who had come to Ecuador to climb mountains.
    4. The group of men, in the morning, realise that he was gone from them.
    5. In the morning they saw traces of his fall. He had fallen of the mountain, and far away he could see the Country Of The Blind.

  • Extended Rising Action

    1.As he descended the steep place, he could se a number of men having a siesta on the piles of grass.
    2. His name was soon introduced, Nunez.
    3. Three men came into sight. Nunez gesticulated with freedom, but they did not appeal to see him fro all his gestures.
    4. One of them was Pedro and the other two were Correa and Bogota.
    5. Nunez was taken to the elders and was questioned.
