Suleiman is Sultan
Suleman has begun his long jurney as a fierce Sultan. He will lead as a vicious military leader, not just for the land. His army of janisaries do not get paid unless there is war. This was a dangerous rule, be cause the janisaries would revolt with out pay(Ragats 277). -

Suleiman Begins His First Military Conquest
Suleiman begins to march north of Istanbul. His army of Janisaries, Ottoman soldiers, conquered territories on the way. He reached Belgrade in early July, and took it by the end of August, 1521(Moss/Wilson 127). -

Seige of Rhodes
Suleman decided to prepare the Ottoman Navy, that previously was weak, in order to conquer Rhodes. Suleiman raise the Navy up to a strong force. After Months of battle, the Knights of St. John surrendered on December 21, 1522(Moss/Wilson 127). -

Suleiman Takes Mohács
Suleman sent his armies to attack Mohács. This Hungarian town was full of important aristocrats that held a lot of power in Hungary. The Ottoman Armies took Mohács in August of 1526 Suleiman sent out a Govener and some Janissaries to hold this town(Moss/Wilson 128). -

Attacks On Vienna
Suleman sends his armies out to the city of Vienna. On their way, terrible weather dogged them from when they left to when they arrived in October(Adison 10). By the time they got to Vienna, the walls were too strong, and the weather was horrible for an atempt on the city. But the Janissaaries tried four full fledged attacks on the city. This was Suleiman's first defeat(Moss/Wilson 129). -
