Around 1492, St Thomas More attended Oxfor university and studied history, mathamatics, law, Frence, Greek liturature, Latin liturature and also learnt how to play the flute and voline. -

Role in the Reformation of the Catholic Church
Around the 1500's, St Thomas More done everything in his power to stop the teachings of the pro-Lutherans religion in England as they went against all the teachings of the Catholic Church. He refused to accept and live the way they wanted, which was above the church of God and split away from the teachings of the Catholic church. -

Family life
When St Thomas was at the age of swenty-seven, he married his love Jane Colt who was aged seventeen at the time. She bore four children from him, three girls: Margaret, Elizabeth and Cecily, and a boy named John. Tragically, Jane died six years into their marriage. -

A few months after his wife Jane's death, he married another woman who had lost her husband through death, a widow named Alice Middleton. St Thomas was in need of someone to help him raise his four children and Alice helped him do just that. -

Work achievements
in 1515, St Thomas started writting his own worldwide book 'Utopia' discussing the difficulties of counselling princes. The word utopia means 'good place' aswell as 'no place'. He started writing 'Utopia' when he was assigned for a diplomatic mission in Antwerp. St Thomas More's book 'Utopia' was finally published in 1516. -

In 1529, Henry VIII made More Lord Chancellor. Lord Chancellor was the highest officer of the crown in the the house of the Lords. -

Contraversies he was involved in
In the year 1532, St Thomas resigned as the Lord Chancellor. He done this because he did not agree to divorce Henry VIII from his wife Catherine and marry another woman named Anne Boleyn. -

Date and cause of death
on July 6 1535, St Thomas More died for high treason and was sent to Tower hill. He stayed there for 15 moths. More was sent to jail because he did not agree to the divorce of Henry VIII and Catherine, he was beheaded and known officially as 'the King's good servant, but God's first'. -
Beatification
St Thomas More was beatified by Pope Leo XIII in 1886. -
When he was canonized and his Feast day
St Thomas More was officially made a saint by Pope Pius XI in May 1935.
St Thomas Mores feast day is on June 22, this is when we remember all the great things he has done for our church and for our Lord.
