Columbus' virst voyage
After convincing The Queen of Spain to finance a trip to find a route to India/Asia. Columbus led his three ships - the Nina, the Pinta and the Santa Maria - out of the Spanish port of Palos on August 3, 1492. -

Columbus lands on a small island in Bahamas
by October 10 the crew's apprehension had increased to the point of near mutiny. Columbus headed off disaster by promising his crew that if land was not sighted in two days, they would return home. The next day (October 11) land was discovered. They found various spices and Indians that they could enslave. he was more excited about the golden jewelery and bits of gold he found. he was most important for encouraging other explorers to travel to America. -

Cortes's voyage
(the 5 is not the real day, i didnt know what it was) In 1518, Cortés was to command his own expedition to Mexico, but Velázquez canceled it. Cortés ignored the order and set sail for Mexico with more than 500 men and 11 ships that fall. In February 1519, the expedition reached the mexican coast. He conquered the Aztecs and got 6 million dallars worth of gold. He is important to history because since he found so much gold, this made more explorers want to visit and search for the three G's. -

Pineda's importance
(I DONT KNOW WHAT THE MONTH AND DAY IS) Pineda was most famous for making his map of the coast of Texas. This made it easier for other explorers to travel. -

In November, 1528, DeVaca shipwrecks in Texas. and was there from 1528 to 1537. and he also found the Karakawas. -

His purpose was to investegate the land to the north,Esteban, after demanding a tribes woman got killed. Fray Marcos reported the 7 cities of gold. -

Coronados Expedition
Coronado went out to search for the seven cities of gold and Quivera. Turk volunteered to lead them to Quivera. but after learning that Turk lied to him. he made him dig his own grave and the strangled him to death. he reported that the new world was of no importance and the cities of gold were a lie, making exploration slow down.
