Safari
The main character, Eckels, arrives at the safari to hunt down the Tynosserus and is dismayed to learn that he is not guaranteed his safety. -
Time Machine
Eckels meets his guide, Travis, and fellow hunters, Kramer and Billings who will all travel by a time machine to the hunt the dinasour. -
Tynosserus
When Eckels, Travis, and the two other hunters arrive they immediately find the T-Rex who is marked by red paint as the target for that day's hunt. -
The Kill
Eckels is terrified of the monster, and does not fire like Travis and the other two hunters. He runs off the path, collecting mud on his shoes, something he was told not to do because it could change the past and the future. -
The Kill
Travis, Billings, and Kramer killed the dinasour and Travis is furious with Eckels for breaking the rules and running away. He threatens to keave Eckels in the past but allows him to come back but has to dig the bullets out of the dinasour to keep the past as it is. -
Return Home
The group travels back into the future, and Travis is tstill furious with Eckels because he broke the few rules and got mud on his shoes. -
The Butterfly
When they return to the present/future 2055 Eckels realizes how different everything seems and is confused at how everything has changed. He realizes that the opposite president won the election and that he can't read straight. -
The Explanation
Travis explains to Eckels that because of the dirt on his shoes and he left the path he stepped on a butterfly, altering the future and present and changing everything. Everything Eckels left before the hunt now has a different outcome. -
The End
This was called the butterfly effect and that the simplest effect can alter the future. Eckels, confused and dismayed, is shot by Travis just as he heard the sound of thunder, the realization. Eckels is killed because of the knowledge he now contains.
